Fairbanks is called "The Golden Heart of Alaska," a reference to the character of her people as much as to the location in Alaska's interior, or to the discovery of gold in 1902.

Because Fairbanks is just 188 miles south of the Arctic Denali, known to Fairbanksans as Mt. McKinley Circle (above which the sun neither sets during the summer solstice, nor rises during the winter solstice) they also have very long summer days. The shortest winter day of the year has less than three hours of sunlight, the longest (around June 21) never really ends, though officially it has over 21 hours.

Fairbanks emanates a quality of light, energy and warmth found nowhere else on Earth. Their northern lights will change you, while the summer midnight sun charms you. Greet the Arctic wilderness on their doorstep or be amazed by their magnificent neighbor, Denali. Be transported into Alaska's gold rush past or engaged in the art and culture of Fairbank's vibrant and diverse city. Make your journey into the heart of the Last Frontier and experience the light, energy and warmth found only in Fairbanks, Alaska.

On Day 2 or 3: Enjoy incredible views of the Northern Lights from the comfort of a lodge. Watch the Aurora Borealis while staying warm inside the lodge or venture outside to try your hand at Northern Lights photography.

Northern Lights Tour Highlights:
Free hotel pickup and drop-off included
Informative, friendly and professional guide
Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience

You'll be picked up from your Fairbanks hotel and driven to one of the best viewing lodges in the Fairbanks area. The lodge is carefully selected to ensure that guests can gaze upon the Northern Lights with ease. Outside of Fairbanks and away from the city lights, these wide-open areas ensure a perfect way to take in Alaska's winter sky.

Share the evening with a knowledgeable guide and learn all about these dancing lights. Enjoy the sights from inside the lodge, or even step outside to snap some photographs of the brilliant sky .

After an eventful night of Aurora viewing, guests are returned to their Fairbanks accommodation at 3am.
